Some lessons are worth remembering

Who remembers the story of the Ants and the Grasshopper

The ants worked all summer storing food for winter while Grasshopper played.

"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present."

Then winter came and the ants had a full pantry with plenty to eat and Grasshopper starved.

The moral of the story was to prepare now for tomorrow's needs.

Recession is like winter for your business.

You have no way of knowing whether it will be mild or harsh, but you know it's going to happen eventually and the only thing you can do is prepare for the worst.

NH Business Guild is partnering with local experts for a series called Recession-Proof Your Business.
