Bridging the Whiteboard Gap: 3 (FREE) Whiteboard Apps to Improve Your Brainstorming
I'm a firm believer in using the right tool for the job, and when it comes to brainstorming, nothing beats a whiteboard. I'm not sure what it is. I know there is scientific data that suggests a correlation between learning and writing that gets lost when you choose a keyboard and laptop over a pen and paper, but I find that brain-to-pen connection jumps exponentially when I swap the paper for a whiteboard.
Thanks to touchscreens and a handy stylus, the wonder of whiteboarding is now a digital experience.
- You can save your board so you never have to worry about erasing
- You can access the boards from any computer
- You can share boards with your team, no matter where they are
- You have an endless variety of ink colors, shapes, notes, images, and digital links saved directly to your whiteboard
- You never have to worry about dry erase markers or image ghosting
Here are three digital whiteboard tools to map out your ideas and foster creativity.
All three of these apps are robust tools for brainstorming by yourself or with a team. They offer a wide variety of classic whiteboard and mindmapping tools as well as options for shapes, pen style & color, sticky notes, templates, and much more. Each of these programs has free and paid versions, though the free version are probably enough for the average user.
If you're looking for a way to wake up your ideas, give digital whiteboarding a try. The hand/stylus/laptop connection may be just the avenue your brain needs to kick start your genius.
